Clarkes, one of Shimlas's oldest hotels, thus was the launching pad for this extraordinary journey of triumph and accomplishment.
As seen in the picture, Clarkes looks like a colonial bungalow with the elegance and grace reminiscent of a movie straight out of yesteryears. The rooms, like the hotel are all very tastefully done. There are 32 guest rooms in all, each one offering a spectacular view of the mountains around Shimla.
The dining room without any pillars was built during the British Raj. Just like the hotel, the uniquely magnificent dining room offers you a delectable variety of Indian and continental cuisine.
The late 18th century bar adjoining the reception serves cocktails and beverages. It is a cozy bar where guests can invite family and friends to join them, or can enjoy a quiet drink on their own.
Clarkes has a glazed conference hall which gives a complete view of the town. The conference hall can easily accommodate upto 60 persons.
Clarkes still maintains the old world charm along with modern comforts that one would expect from a hotel of this class.
